The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, The Oeconomica Timisiensis Foundation and The East-European Center for Research in Economics and Business (ECREB) are pleased to invite you to attend the first edition of The International Conference ”Current Economic Trends in Emerging and Developing Countries” (TIMTED – 2013), which will be held from 6th to 8th June 2013, at the West University of Timisoara, Romania. The conference addresses all interested persons in the related field, academics and professionals as well, from all over the world. The goal of the conference is to offer a high quality scientific environment for all participants, in order to meet, exchange and debate ideas, opinions and expertise. Subsidiarily, the conference also encourages the submissions of interdisciplinary research, i.e. economics and business fields correlated with other areas, such as: sociology, politics, psychology etc.
Selected papers will be considered for publication in two journals: Journal of Heterodox Economics and Timisoara Journal of Economics and Business. The papers will be reviewed according to the internal review criteria.

The main topics are (but not limitative):
- the effects of financial crisis in emerging and developing countries (EDC);
- the fiscal imbalances in EDC;
- the monetary policy in EDC;
- the regional and sustainable development in EDC;
- the institution design in EDC;
- the returnment and migration policies in EDC;
- the recent accountancy measure for welfare and development.
The confirmed keynote speakers are:
Francesco Forte, as special guest, Professor Emeritus of Sapienza University of Rome (Italy), who will present the lecture entitled ”Public policy for European emerging countries. A public choice approach”. Professor Forte is former Ministry of Finance of Italy, former president of the International Atlantic Economic Society and honorary president of the International Institute of Public Finance;
Gareth Myles, who will present the lecture entitled ”The consequences of economic crime“. Dr. Myles is Professor of Economics at University of Exeter (United Kingdom), member of the Institute for Fiscal Studies and Editor of the scientific journal “Fiscal Studies”.
Jesus Lopez-Rodriguez, who will present the lecture entitled ”Geographical economics and its implications for income, human capital and growth”. Dr. Jesus Lopez-Rodriguez is Associate Professor at University of A Coruna (Spain) and also Senior Economist at European Commission in the Institute of Prospective Technological Studies (IPTS-JRC) DG Joint Research Centre.
In addition, an academic writing workshop will also be organized. The special guest will be Dr. Liliana Harding from East Anglia University - Norwich (United Kingdom).
